As the summer season starts, a majority of people will be taking advantage of the warm weather to spend more quality time outdoors. While the idea to soak up the soul to some sun after a long winter is welcome, care should be taken since this can mean trouble for your skin.
To ensure you prevent yourself adequately during the hot sunny days, you need to protect yourself. Thus, below you will find a guideline on eight things you can do to prevent yourself from getting skin cancer.
8Slather on the sunscreen
If you plan on spending lengthy periods of time out in the sun, you should use plenty of sunscreens which have a sun protection factor of 15 or higher. Using any which has lesser than 15 will not protect your skin from sunburn or skin cancer. In fact, the higher the number, the better. Moreover, when choosing which one to buy, you should go for those with ingredients such as avobenzone, conoxate, titanium dioxide and zinc oxide.
Further, for increased safety, you should try to apply the sunscreen at least 20 minutes before stepping out in the hot sun (and reapply every two hours).
