Carbohydrates provide our bodies with energy that is needed for normal day to day functions. There are numerous sources of carbohydrates but it has been proven that there are good and bad carbohydrates. Carbohydrates rich in natural fibres like whole grains and vegetables are known as complex carbohydrates or good carbs. While as white flour, artificial sweeteners, soft drinks, processed milk products and some fruits are known as simple carbohydrates or bad carbs in short.
5High Calorie Density
With all the information in the internet today, it gets a little pesky trying to get useful information as far as healthy eating is concerned. But one thing remains for sure that foods that are high in calorie density have brought havoc in the health sector with the consumers being the greatest losers. Not all carbs fall in this category. If we take a potato for example, a large part of it is water while a bite or two of energy bar or a plain rice cake contains almost 100 percent calories. That means bad carbs have high calorie density compared to good carbs.
