Side planks are very effective as they help you target both sides of your body. This helps someone to address any weaknesses they might have as well as correcting any imbalances. Make sure that both your hip, ankle together with your shoulder remain in one line. Your chin too should be off your chest and remain there the entire workout. For a beginner, the workout should last 3 minutes per rep and you should do at least 5-7 reps per day. To make things a bit challenging, try and raise the top leg parallel to the ground. If you have a dumbbell, use it to ‘sweep’ your weight. Make sure your arm ends up straight up.
